- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I would give ZERO stars if possible. Our experience was HORRIBLE and I would never recommend this title company to anyone. We have bought and sold 7 homes in our lifetime which has taken us to a title company 14 times. Every experience was seamless and professional. Phillips-Hansen was not. It is customary for property taxes to be shared by the seller and buyer for the portion of the year it is owned by each. Several months after the deal was closed, (tax time) we realized that this amount had not been included in the transaction - making us responsible for taxes for the entire year, even though we bought in September. When we questioned the title company, Bruce said, he didn't know how much the taxes would be so he didn't include it. He very rudely said, "you signed the document, it's your problem now". Yes, it is our problem. But it would have been nice if he would have made us aware that he had ignored this piece of information before we signed!!
